let's see if i can go this entire poetry collection without mentioning maria vásquez again
my father is a pastor in an evangelical/non-denominational church
i have probably told you this before
there is one thing you learn from being the child of a pastor
and that is that redundancy is the best way to convince everyone that you are right
if you just keep saying it, eventually everyone will realize that you are right
because when they die, they will all eat sulfur, bathe in fire, and wear brimstone jewelry
and you will have nothing else to say because you were right
is it okay that i constantly refer to pseudo-science as an explanation for everything
because i am not a scientist or a mathematician
but i know a goddamn awful lot of them and believe them for the most part
that's why i feel like saying absurd things in the context of technobabble is fine
because i am self-aware that there is somebody reading what i write
and saying 'what the fuck does this asshole think he is trying to prove. he is wrong'
so as long as i know this i can say whatever teh fuck i want, right?
twenty years ago the things that we 'know' now did not exist
on this basis i can say whatever teh fuck i want
because no matter what i say, even if it is close to accurate
it will still be absolutely absurd in three years
holy fuck, i just solved it
we invent time travel in 2012
to be ironic
we ironically invent time travel
